The walk

The two paths from the canal meet again in Pen Wood, after the village of Middleyard. The Way then follows the edge of the escarpment to Coaley Peak, a picnic place with the view, past a disused quarry where the rock shows its layers. Cam Long Down stands across the next valley. The climb is steep, and the top looks all round. The path drops to Farfield and comes into Dursley through farmland. Dursley is a market town, and it is lunch on these plans, not the night.
