About TrailBritain

Iconic long-distance walks

TrailBritain publishes guides and day-by-day itineraries for Britain's long-distance walks. Choose a trail, follow a published plan, or change the nights on the map. Free. No account.

Using the planner

Open the map in your browser. Stays, pubs, and resupply sit on the trail so you can see the walk before you book. Change nights, download a GPX, or email yourself a link to come back later. Sharing with a partner is a view link. They do not sign up either.

Why we built it

A static guidebook page is not a plan you can take with you. We wanted a clear overview of the days (where you sleep, how long each day is) and a GPX for the itinerary you actually chose.

We have walked every trail on this site. The plans start from that. TrailBritain is a planning tool, not a guided holiday: we do not walk them with you.

Who runs this site

Codemesh OÜ operates TrailBritain. We are a software company based in Estonia (Business Register code 16540767). Registered office: Tamme pst 82-2, 50405 Tartu linn, Tartu maakond, Estonia.

We build the guides, the maps, and the day-by-day planner on this site.

Not the official trail authority

TrailBritain is independent of the bodies that manage each trail. For closures, waymarking, and official notices, use the official site linked from that trail's guide.

How we build itineraries

Each duration starts from a curated day split: towns you typically sleep in, and a realistic walking day between them. Distances and elevation come from our trail geometry and routing, not a copied guidebook table. Official and published itineraries are a cite, not the page you read here.

You can keep a plan as-is, change overnight stops, and export a GPX for your own device. Planner output is general planning information. See our disclaimer.

Keeping information current

We do not run a fixed review calendar. If a stop or a day split is wrong, we fix it when someone writes or when we notice. For conditions on the day you walk, use the official notices. We are not the source of closures.
