Cross-check: Yorkshire Wolds Way route description . Opened 6 November 2026. The route page gives each section's published miles, which the FAQ uses. The distance at the top of this page is measured along the trail between these towns. A walk off the path to a bed is extra.
The walk
The Humber keeps you company all morning, a wide estuary beside a foreshore of stones and shingle that walks slower than it looks. The Yorkshire Wolds Way turns inland after Welton. Woods climb onto Ellerker North Wold, and the whole estuary opens out behind you. The day ends with a steep drop through Brantingham.

An elaborate memorial of 1922, built from the stones of Hull's demolished town hall: "one of the most lovably awful things in the East Riding".
