The walk

Here the dyke is the national boundary, and in places you can walk with one foot in each country. The path is fairly flat and stays close to the earthwork. Montgomery, with its ruined castle and Bunners hardware shop, is about three-quarters of a mile off through Lymore Park. A climb to the Beacon Ring hillfort is the last effort before the River Severn at Buttington Bridge.
