Cross-check: Coast to Coast route description on National Trails . The walk is taken from that page, checked 12 October 2026. Miles on our line are measured between these ends on the imported path. Where a walking guide uses the same two ends, its miles are from walkcoasttocoast.co.uk, also checked 12 October 2026.

The walk

The path crosses Reeth Bridge to Low Fremington, climbs to Marrick Priory, and takes Steps Wood up to Marrick. Fields lead to Marske, then a bridleway runs below Applegarth Scar and through Whitcliffe Woods into Richmond. National Trails calls this one of the easier sections. On our line it is 10.4 miles (16.7 km), with 370 m (about 1,210 ft) of climb. A walking guide measures the same two towns as 10.3 miles (16.6 km) and 379 m (about 1,240 ft), and grades the stage easy.
