Two fingers to pan. Scrub the profile to follow the walk.

Cross-check: Coast to Coast route description on National Trails . The walk is taken from that page, checked 12 October 2026. Miles on our line are measured between these ends on the imported path. Where a walking guide uses the same two ends, its miles are from walkcoasttocoast.co.uk, also checked 12 October 2026.

The walk

The Cleveland Way climbs from the road onto Urra Moor and Round Hill, then follows a disused railway to Bloworth Crossing. There the Coast to Coast leaves the Cleveland Way and stays on the railway line across the moor to the road at the Lion Inn. From Blakey Ridge it crosses to Glaisdale Rigg and drops into Glaisdale. On our line this is 17.2 miles (27.7 km), with 400 m (about 1,310 ft) of climb. A walking guide ends its next stages at Blakey Ridge and then at Grosmont, not at Glaisdale, so those stage miles are not this section.

The ground

  • Moor, a dismantled railway, a ridge road, then a track down to the village.

A long exposed moor, then a descent to a village. Less climb than the scarp before it, and a long way across open ground. The Lion Inn is on the way, not the section end.
