Two fingers to pan. Scrub the profile to follow the walk.

Cross-check: Coast to Coast route description on National Trails . The walk is taken from that page, checked 12 October 2026. Miles on our line are measured between these ends on the imported path. Where a walking guide uses the same two ends, its miles are from walkcoasttocoast.co.uk, also checked 12 October 2026.

The walk

The path leaves Ingleby Cross, crosses the A172, and joins the Cleveland Way over Scarth Wood Moor. It crosses Live Moor, Carlton Moor, Cringle Moor, and the Wainstones, and meets the B1257 at Clay Bank Top. National Trails calls the stretch demanding. On our line it is 10.5 miles (17.0 km), with 850 m (about 2,790 ft) of climb. A walking guide's stage over this scarp starts at Osmotherley, not at Ingleby Cross, so that stage's miles are not the length of this section.
