The walk

Twice the path plunges to sea level, at Boggle Hole and Stoupe Beck, and twice it climbs back out. A long, gradual rise takes you to Ravenscar and the ruins of its alum works, where seals are sometimes seen offshore. Later the wooded bay at Hayburn Wyke hides a waterfall and a pebble beach. These short climbs tire you more than the map suggests.
